Chicago fans of Crocodile Dundee recently learned that he soon would be swimming alone. Paul Hogan and his wife, the former Linda Kozlowski, were confirmed to be filing for divorce by a representative for the 74-year-old actor. The pair met on the set of the original Crocodile Dundee film in 1986 and married in 1990. The representative said that the couple had been separated for some time.
The rep also said they were sure to remain friends who would continue to co-parent and co-raise their 15-year-old, of whom joint custody was being sought by his 55-year-old mother. Linda Hogan was seeking to have her maiden name of Kozlowski restored in the divorce. It would be the third divorce for the Australian movie star and the second for Linda Hogan, who trained as an opera singer at Juilliard.
For the original Crocodile Dundee movie, Paul Hogan won a Golden Globe for Best Actor and was nominated for an Oscar for Best Screenplay. He started in show business as comic relief on the Australian TV program A Current Affair. That part was spun off into The Paul Hogan show, which was a ratings success. In addition to the worldwide success of the Crocodile Dundee franchise, the actor was also known for dramatic work and for his advertising work as the voice of Australian tourism.
Divorce can be complex and stressful to any married couple regardless of social status, wealth or age. A Chicago lawyer with a background in family law may be helpful with resolving many divorce legal issues such as property division, child support and child custody. The end of a marriage is rarely easy, but with the assistance of an attorney, divorcing clients can rest easy that their interests are being addressed.
