What is Collaborative Divorce?

Collaborative divorce is an extension of “divorce by mutual agreement”. It is a process in which lawyers of both the partners cooperate with each other and work together in order to help their respective clients reach a quick and amicable settlement.

As per family law, both the partners and their lawyers are required to sign a participatory agreement which states that in case a satisfactory settlement does not result from the process, the lawyers will pull out of the case. The role of lawyers is limited to participating in out of court negotiations. The retainers they charge are limited to this period.
